Our History
The Covenant Assembly was first established in 1984 by Pastor Terry Lawson and his wife Bubbles, beginning as a humble house group in their home, which also served as an old folks home they operated. Pastor Terry initially ministered to the elderly residents, and it was during this time that Pastor David Arnold joined them in this beautiful ministry.
By 1985, the meetings had grown so large that the group had to transfer their Sunday services and meetings to the local YMCA to accommodate everyone. The ministry continued to flourish with a heart for community and biblical teaching.
In 1998, Pastor David Arnold pioneered taking the ministry online, first as a bulletin board system, and by 1999, launching a full-fledged website equipped for online-based teaching, guidance, and ordination with ministry accreditation. People from many countries around the world signed up to be part of this growing online community.
By 2006, The Covenant Assembly ministries had blossomed internationally. Over the years, many churches—both physical and online—have emerged using our ministry name, a testament to the impact and reach of this ministry that began in a small house group over 40 years ago.
Important Note: All ministries that have emerged bearing The Covenant Assembly name, both past and future, operate autonomously from this original ministry. While we celebrate the growth and spread of the gospel through these independent ministries, each one functions under its own leadership and direction. This original Covenant Assembly ministry continues under Pastor David Arnold's oversight, maintaining the foundational vision and values established in 1984.

The Covenant Assembly is dedicated to spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ and equipping believers for ministry through comprehensive biblical education. We believe in the power of God's Word to transform lives and strengthen faith communities around the world.
We continue the vision that Pastor Terry and Bubbles Lawson started—reaching people where they are, whether in a nursing home, a YMCA, or online across the globe.

The Covenant Assembly was founded by Pastor Terry Lawson and his beloved wife Bubbles in 1984. Their ministry began with a simple yet profound calling—to minister to the elderly in their care home. Their compassionate hearts and dedication to sharing God's love laid the foundation for what would become a global ministry.
Pastor David Arnold - Current Pastor
Pastor David Arnold joined Pastor Terry and Bubbles in 1984, helping minister to the elderly residents. Since 1998, he has led The Covenant Assembly into the digital age, pioneering online ministry and biblical education.
With over 40 years of ministry experience, Pastor David has witnessed the growth of The Covenant Assembly from a small house group to an international online ministry. He continues to oversee the ministry, providing biblical teaching, guidance, and ordination services to believers around the world.
Pastor David has quietly watched over the years as The Covenant Assembly's influence has spread, with many churches—both physical and online—emerging under the ministry's name, a beautiful testimony to God's faithfulness and the solid foundation laid by the Lawsons.
